Our program consists of phase II cardiac rehabilitation, pulmonary rehabilitation and a phase III medically supervised fitness program. Undergraduate and graduate students are accepted. We provide many opportunities for patient care and assessment, documentation, education, exercise prescription, and fitness testing. Interns are exposed to other departments including PT, OT, speech therapy, and nutrition services. Interns will also have the opportunity to observe stress testing and cardiac interventions. Ascension Mercy Medical Center - Oshkosh - Oshkosh , WI
Interns will experience both inpatient/outpatient cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation. Opportunities for involvement include patient assessment, education, exercise prescription, fitness testing and case management. Interns will also observe stress testing, cardiac interventions and open heart surgery. Undergraduate and graduate students with an emphasis in cardiac rehabilitation required. Applications are accepted for spring internships between September 1 - November 1, summer internships between February 1 - April 1 and for fall internships between May 1 - July 1.

ProHealth Care offers a comprehensive Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation experience. Interns are offered experience at both ProHealth Care sites, in Waukesha and Oconomowoc. Interns learn to work with patients in a clinical setting. Activities involve patient assessment, education, exercise prescription/progression and documentation. The focus is on outpatient Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab, however, there is opportunity to work with other populations in our Get Fit program, medical nutrition therapy appointments, exercise consultations and Phase 3/4 rehab. Our internship will focus primarily on outpatient cardiac rehab, but will also involve outpatient pulmonary rehab, stress testing, primary prevention, and inpatient cardiac rehab.
