This webinar will cover what cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation (CR and PR) programs need to do to meet newly published 2010 Medicare rules. Medicare regulations for CR and PR were published as proposed rules in July, 2009. Final rules are scheduled for release by The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in early November. This is the first time CMS has issued regulations for pulmonary rehabilitation that will apply nationwide. Coverage and payment rules will be reviewed in detail. Changes to the coverage policy for cardiac rehabilitation and rules for adherence to physician supervision requirements will be addressed. These regulations take effect on January 1, 2010! Upon completion of this teleconference, the participants will be 1) introduced to the final changes in Medicare regulations for coverage of cardiac rehabilitation services in 2010; 2) familiar with regulations for Medicare coverage of pulmonary rehabilitation services; 3) able to understand what CMS requires to be compliant with physician supervision rules; 4) knowledgeable in coding and billing changes for both cardiac and pulmonary rehab services.
